Chin Attack! Born and raised in Adachi-ku, Tokyo Macka-Chin discovered his love for hip-hop at the age of 19 while experimenting with a microphone in a music shop where he used to work. Starting his professional career in 1995 as a guest performer, Macka made his rapping debut on You The Rock's legendary track "1999". Moving on to work with the MC/Producer Muro shortly after his debut, The Chin finally became known to the public on Thumpin Camp, the unforgettable japanese hip-hop event that took place in 1996. Macka-Chin as a natural talent for both producing and rapping appeared on many people's work as a result of his 5 minutes of fame on Thumpin Camp and became a wanted guest artist in the scene.

Producing and appearing on other people's work for the next 3 years Macka finally decided to concentrate on his own career and invited the fellow MC's Gore-Tex & S-Word to record his debut 12 inch single "Requiem";. The release received huge attention from the hip-hop scene and eventually lead to the birth of Macka's group Nitro Microphone Underground in the early 1999. The year after saw Macka rapping and producing for his groups self titled album and after the huge success which ended with a very popular live tour, Macka started producing for his own solo album. The release of his debut saw daylight on August of 2001 under Reality Records and the album "Chin Attack" like the other N.M.U. solo works was a hit in the underground.

The legendary Hip-Hop Magazine Blast! awarded Macka-Chin as the producer of the year in Japan and the original sound of his productions were highly acclaimed by the fans. Receiving lot of support and respect from the whole scene, Macka was hired for production/rapping spots by not only his Nitro family but also by such artists as Moomin, Muro and Shakkazombie. Ending the year by producing one of the biggest anthems in japanese hip-hop history GK Maryan's "Tokyo Relax", The Chin was approached by JVC who signed him with a major deal in the early 2002. Working on the album the whole year after getting signed Macka released his follow up to "Chin Attack" on december of 2002 with "Chin Near Here" which strenghtened his original mix of street/abstract sounds.

Words from the Editor:

Finally becoming a household name as a producer/mc in the game after his second album, Macka-Chin has always worked as a mentor and an innovator in the scene always experimenting with new flows and new styles of production. Recently he can be heard on Nitro's comeback album and just like any other genius producer of our time "The Chin" always evolves. Constantly underrated Macka is one of the allstar producers in Japan and while he might not be enjoying huge respect on the mic he is gettin all the love in the world on the streets as a hip-hop artist.
